So, I missed the action, After I left UP in the summer of 68. I was desperate to make a living and to carve a niche for myself. I worked 1 year at the Veterans Hospital in Quezon City for a year until I ventured going to Cebu where I found work with Elks Cerebral Palsy Clinic, beside the TB pavilion. When the Cebu chapter of the UP alumni association had an organizational meeting, I invited myself to participate. Each and everyone represented their respected colleges. School of Allied Medical Professions was under the College of Medicine, so that was the College I joined. That day I lost my shyness and naivete. I started questioning everything. I commented on every editorials in the local papers; I wrote letters to the editor until I was offered a column of my own. Hence FEEDBACK was born - the bane of politicians, including Serging Osmena Jr, and the voice of activism. Activists who became hot in Manila were my guests in my column. My involvement with the movement became so serious that I even debated politicians and slackers in radios, Ch 5 TV, and in the open stage near Fuente Osmena, same stage where Inday Badiday launched her support for Nora Aunor.. Soon, from my FEEDBACK column at Cebu Advocate spread to Southern Tribune of Abtar Singh (son of Soban Singh), Morning News with Resil Mojares, Cebu Times and a guest editorial of Republic News. On July or August of 1972, came down to Manila to seek help and advice from Percival Cruz (Perci) at his office in Makati. I did not get an ads but got a very helpful suggestion..On September 19, 1972, REVIVAL, the magazine of counter culture was born!. It was a one man job. I was the publisher, editor, writer, artist and distributor. On the same night, all copies were in the street, newstand, bookstore, media station. September 20, they were all gone! REVIVAL ... was an irony - it did not revive. The military confiscated all the copies. The writ of Habeas Corpus was suspended, until all the radicals have been rounded up and locked up before Martial law waa proclaimed in September 21 1972. They never got me. The military were looking for a BIG man. So, after a week of tensed moment. this little peep squeek, unceremoniously took a small boat back to Manila. End of adventure.
